Welcome to Diamond Plaza Hotel
Diamond Plaza Hotel offers a balanced blend of affordability and convenience in the heart of Hat Yai, Thailand. Nestled at 62 Thanon Niphatuthit 3, this mid-tier hotel routinely draws travelers looking for practical accommodation close to the city's vibrant markets and bustling streets. With a solid 3.8 rating, it stands out primarily for its unbeatable location, placing guests within walking distance of key attractions like the Kim Yong Market, Odean, and lively night markets.
The hotel's lobby welcomes visitors with a spacious, polished atrium that surprises guests with its charm given the modest price point. Though the rooms reflect an older style with dated fixtures, they remain clean, functional, and comfortably livable. Guests consistently note the air-conditioned rooms and daily housekeeping as positives, contributing to a pleasant stay. However, the hard pillows and occasional thin soundproofing remind visitors that this hotel prioritizes budget-conscious convenience over luxury comforts.
Diamond Plaza Hotel’s amenities cater well to travelers who value essentials over extravagance. Free Wi-Fi and free parking add to the practical appeal, while services like laundry and an on-site restaurant enhance convenience. It’s important to note that the hotel lacks a fitness center and pool, and does not allow pets, making it ideal mostly for solo travelers, couples, or families seeking a straightforward, no-frills experience.
Guests have shared mixed yet candid insights: the security deposit policy is clear but may catch some off guard, and while staff interactions are mostly professional, early check-ins depend on room availability, which can cause some friction. On the upside, the proximity to local dining, clubs, and massage services enriches the stay, giving visitors authentic access to Hat Yai's energetic city life.
In sum, Diamond Plaza Hotel embodies a practical lodging choice for those prioritizing location and cost-efficiency over opulence. It serves as a dependable base for experiencing Hat Yai’s culture and commerce firsthand, especially for travelers with an adventurous spirit who don’t mind modest, well-kept accommodations. For visitors seeking a clean, accessible, and economically sensible hotel with a strong local vibe, Diamond Plaza Hotel remains a worthy contender.

The room was cheap. The fixtures were old but in good working condition. A security deposit of 500 baht was required. The hotel's location is very good.
It’s ideally located and affordably priced. If you want to witness the city action, stay in this hotel, where you are just steps away from the excitement. The accommodation costs less than surrounding hotels. Don’t expect star ratings for the rooms, but they are very livable.
It was okay, the hotel had a spacious beautiful lobby. But the rooms weren't bad. It gave off like an expensive room, but it's old iykyk. But everything was fine... But the pillows were hard as a rock
Recommended to all events, it looks old and designs it comfortable to stay in. Reminder to all, please bring your own iron, no iron available in this hotel. Parking available. East access to night market, club for live band and massage services
Check in at 13/4/25. Book via agoda and it stated check in time was 12pm. Arrived at 11.30am. The Reception start to get jumpy when i ask is check in time 12pm. Her expression was like unhappy. Told her to not be so Jumpy & dont have to talk to me in that way. As i saw agoda stated check in time 12pm. After that she slow down her tone. And inform 3pm rooms will be available. And i request for them to help me check in as i meeting up with my frens for Songkran. I dont mind if it was a late check in as it was a Main Holiday Festive. Room was nice and big. Doors maybe can improve with soundproof. Will come back again.
19 - 23 Mar 2025 My family and I booked 5 rooms for 3 nights. When my spouse and I arrived early in the morning, the hotel staff was accommodating to allow us to check in 1 room first. On the opposite side of rooms, my spouse and I were very glad there was no noise. However, on my family side of rooms, the soundproof wasn’t great. The non-connecting room is more spacious than the connecting rooms. Generally comfortable though the rooms are quite old and need some fixing to be competitive. I think for S$40/night, there are better deals around but I won’t mind staying here if it’s cheaper.
Hotel room has improved and I love the bath tub. Good location for food, Kim Yong Market and 10 minutes ride on Tuk Tuk to Central Mall
Rooms were clean and the air-conditioning was cool. They changed the towels and made the bed everyday. Hotel is located in a good location, walking distance to the Kim Yong market, Odean, and a night market. There was about 3 7-elevens nearby and a Watson as well.
